After about nine months in the camp it occurred to me that no one knew more about the problems that refugees faced in the US than the refugees themselves. I then convinced the program administrators to let me collect the letters that refugees had received from their relatives in the US.

These three woman, solely out of the goodness of their hearts, helped me translate the letters sent to Vietnamese refugees.

All of them intellectuals, as soon as they arrived in the US they enrolled in universities.
